Counseling
Individual Therapy for adults experiencing:
Anxiety is a normal part of being human, and it can even be helpful at times. It usually becomes a problem when we start to fear the thoughts, feelings, and body reactions that come with anxiety. In other words, we become anxious about anxiety. When this happens, we may change our behavior to avoid or escape feeling anxious or panicked. The good news is that anxiety doesn’t have to stand in the way of living a meaningful and purposeful life.
A life transition is simply a change we go through. Sometimes big changes—like losing someone we love, starting or ending a relationship, moving, or taking on a new role—can be hard and make us question how we’re living our lives. Taking time to work through these changes and reconnect with what matters most to us can help us adjust, grow, and move through transitions with more ease and purpose.
Women often come to therapy facing challenges that are shaped by social, biological, and emotional factors. These challenges can affect both mental and physical health and may show up during different life stages, such as during/after pregnancy, while raising children, or menopause. Challenges can also include pressure from society and gender roles, people-pleasing, perfectionism, feeling stretched too thin, questions about identity and self-worth, experiences with trauma or safety concerns, and relationship struggles. Understanding these challenges and building skills like self-compassion and healthy boundaries can help you reconnect with yourself and improve your overall well-being.
Trauma is a long-lasting response to one or more deeply upsetting experiences that feel overwhelming. It can affect how the brain and body handle stress and may change how you see yourself, manage emotions, and connect with others. While these effects can feel heavy, healing is possible. With understanding, support, and the right tools, you can build safety, regain balance, and move forward with strength and hope.
Walking Therapy
Walk and talk therapy offers an outdoor counseling option that blends movement, nature, and meaningful conversation. Sessions take place while walking at a comfortable pace, creating a relaxed and supportive setting. This approach can help reduce stress, improve mood, and make it easier to open up, especially for those who feel more at ease outdoors or prefer a non-traditional therapy experience.
Walking therapy also serves as a living metaphor for how we move through life’s challenges—one step at a time. Walking sessions currently take place in a park setting with (mostly paved) walking trails.
